for Tea Talk each Thursday!
I'm having...Caribou Blend coffee in my white everyday mug.
I'm feeling... Pressed for time. Asking God for help to just pace myself evenly with no wasted minutes the next 5 hours...I have a gathering here tomorrow but I leave the house at 2pm today, and won't be back until almost midnight, so I have to finish everything now.
On my mind... Mary and Martha. Though Martha's tasks were a reality, Jesus said that Mary chose the better thing to focus on...Him. I have many tasks, but my goal is warm and cozy fellowship for my guests, not "entertaining" my guests. There is a vast difference, and the tasks involved with hosting events -- especially in a time crunch like the one I'm in -- can cause a hostess to lose sight of the goal: that the name of Jesus would be lifted up, and that God would be pleased.
My theme verse for December:
“'Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.'
And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.'” (Luke 2:10-14)
My silly dog, who always likes to come to Tea Talk.

Leave a note...I love to hear from you!

Oh Dear Lori,
I pray that everything goes well and that Our Lord gives you peace and calmness as you go about your day.
I do think a great deal about Mary and Martha, and I tend to be the Martha to a 'T'. Yet, Our Lord has blessed me this year with so much JOY and peace that Mary is what I am becoming in my heart :)
Blessings to your day!
Maria
I pray that you get everything done. Great reminder...I think we all have Martha moments, but need a reminder to be more like Mary.
Blessings,
Chasity
I'm always tempted to be Martha when I should be a Mary. I hope your event goes well and that you feel less stress.
God bless!
Love your thoughts today, dear sister. (It speaks to my Martha-heart!) I get chills thinking of those angels appearing. Enjoy the busy day--the Lord knows what is best for you today, and you shall have a wonderful time tomorrow afternoon in the company of Godly ladies!
See you soon!
Christine
Your thoughts is a good reminder for me here as I also prepare to host an event tomorrow. I tend to be like Martha, especially these days.
Thank you for posting for Tea Talk despite your very busy schedule. I appreciate it.
I pray you enjoy the whole process of hosting.
Blessings on your gathering.
Dear Lori...as I write this, your day has come and gone! I am sure that it was sweet fellowship! A time of peace and calm...a time to cherish your guests...many sweet memories made! Have a blessed week ahead! Hugs ♥ Teri
