Middle of last week, I posted an update saying that I was re-organizing my kitchen to focus on productivity, not decoration. It was a big job, but the first and grandest-scale part of it is finished!
BEFORE:
Keurig coffemaker (center corner) used often, but filtered water is in an adjacent room, K-cups are stored in that same room, and used K-cups are carted to that same room for disposal each day. 12-cup coffee-maker (left) only used when lots of company is over.  Basket (behind white bucket of honey) holds coffee filters and coffee for 12 cup maker.

DURING:
Wash dishes and put them away...start moving the canning supplies into the dining room where they'll stay until I need them next week. Making the countertops useful is the goal!
Making room for a NEW coffee center in the storage room!

Bringing out the small appliances which help me to eat HEALTHY. When they are hidden away on shelves/in cabinets, it adds a "layer of complication" to using them, and they tend to sit unused. Get them out in the open!
AFTER:
The NEW coffee center! Water filter on far left...the big silver dispenser.

Juicer, food processor, and nice sharp knives. I have a terry-cloth towel with crocheted hanging loop hung over the paper towel roll...we often wash hands at the kitchen sink, and this encourages everyone to dry clean hands with terry, not paper. Less waste, less money spent on paper towels.

Picked my two "go-to" cookbooks, and put them on the sill over the sink.

The basket holds my favorite teas, and a couple of 8 oz canning jars with screw-top caps that I use to store my fresh squeezed carrot juice, which I am back to making daily.

Then I re-organized the "broom closet," where I store brooms/dusters, paper goods, some canning supplies, and also bags/buckets of wheat:

This was a big project! I'm so glad it's done. Next will be more "minutia," as I continue to clean and declutter my cookbook shelves. I'm transferring recipes into a notebook/binder that Christine showed me how to make, and that single book will hold the few recipes I use from each of 20 cookbooks that used to take up space in my storage closet. I'm a cookbook hound...it's a real "danger zone" for me!

My projects right now are not very big nor impressive...but I feel like there's a thousand of them. I am overwhelmed, often. So, I delight and give thanks to God for each little victory over each little thing on my long, long list. I'm so glad for friends who are joining up with me on Tuesdays to share their projects, and hope that more will come alongside!

Ooh, I love kitchen organizing. So sorry I haven't linked any projects the past few weeks. Was feeling terribly under the weather late last night into today...

Love what you've done--when can I come for tea/coffee? It's now definitely the right weather! Oh, and I love those two cookbooks. Nice choice. :)

Garden update: I have a bowl of tomatoes with your name on 'em, plus I spotted a carrot or two you might pick soon.

Too busy to post a lot, I want to connect with you SOON.

Love you,
Christine

Awesome! I am trying to decide what I can live without in my kitchen..downsize a bit perhaps. But it is the workhorse of the household. I spend more time there than anywhere else in my home. Perhaps I just need to change the color and make it fresh again!
